Nature
and neighborhood parks add value
| Fairbanks Northstar Borough
land policy sets aside 5 acres of every 40 acre development for public
use. Parks increase the value of the neighborhood, and just as many lots
can be developed. Neighborhood Parks can be for community gardens and events.
Trails and nature areas also bring the people of the neighborhood together.
This provision and greenbelts
along development edges are being ignored by the borough. The tiny area
involved in parks and greenbelts, contrasted with the huge value to the
community, means this land policy will cost little and have far reaching
benefits to all people of our Borough. |
